For more than four decades, The Jayhawks have shaped the sound of Americana with timeless songs that blend country, folk, rock, soul, and Britpop. Emerging from Minneapolis’ influential post-punk scene alongside bands like The Replacements, Hüsker Dü and Soul Asylum, the group helped define a genre through landmark albums including Hollywood Town Hall, Tomorrow the Green Grass, Smile, Rainy Day Music, and Paging Mr. Proust. Today, the band features guitarist and lead vocalist Gary Louris, bassist and vocalist Marc Perlman, keyboardist and backing vocalist Karen Grotberg, and drummer and vocalist Tim O’Reagan.
Set for release on August 28, Sanctuary Park marks The Jayhawks’ 12th studio album and reunites the band with legendary producer Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, Alice Cooper, and Lou Reed), who also produced 2000’s Smile, hailed by The New York Times as a “classic.”
